The Plaza is a community in Long Beach, California that is adjacent to El Dorado Park. Residents enjoy being close to many recreational activities.

The Plaza is a part of East Long Beach and was built is several phases. It is bordered by Palo Verde Avenue and Woodruff Avenue. East Spring Street is a shopping and dining district in this neighorhood.

The Long Beach Unified School District provides public education with facilities such as Wilson High School as well as highly ranked Minnie Gant Elementary School and Tincher Preparatory School. If you’re looking for private schooling there is a long list that includes Cambodian Christian School, Parkridge Private School, St. Anthony High School, Oakwood Academy, and Los Altos Brethren School. There are several higher learning facilities here like Long Beach City College, DeVry University, and Pacific Coast University School of Law.

To the south of The Plaza is California State University, Long Beach which is also known as LBSU or The Beach. It is the state’s third largest campus and one of the largest by enrollment with over 36,000 students in the fall of 2014. The El Dorado Park Golf Course offers stunning scenery on a Ted Robinson, Sr. designed course. This club has many tournaments and is the home of the Long Beach Open. It was ranked in 2008 as one of GolfLink’s Top Golf Courses and in 2012 was honored by Wedding Wire.

Long Beach is the state’s 7th largest city and has 17 historic districts including Carroll Park, California Heights, and Rose Park. There is a variety of Spanish, Tudor, and California bungalows. There are many cultural activities at venues like the Long Beach Museum of Art, the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, and the Long Beach Symphony.
